To meet the pressures of professional and personal life, many people of certain means such as financiers and doctors have taken to employing domestic workers to help them manage their home and family needs. In New York City there are over 200,000 domestic workers.' Domestic workers allow professionals to spend more time at work, while the incomes that these domestic workers earn also play a vital role in the larger, global economy.
